| Jeffrey P. Kinney - Current chair of the LSS board of directors and corporate banker with Wells Fargo Bank. He received a bachelor of arts from Wittenberg University and an MBA from DePaul University. He also sits on the board of Boston Rescue Mission. Jeff is a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Natick, Mass., where his wife, the Rev. Rebecca Bourret, serves as pastor. |
Jeff Kinney, chair of the Lutheran Social Services governing board, will begin a five-week volunteer internship with LSS on August 11. Kinney, a senior vice president for Wells-Fargo Bank, has been granted a leave of absence by the bank as part of a program that encourages executive leaders to share their talents and professional experience with the non-profit sector.
Kinney will work intensively with the LSS Foundation to test the theory that the agency will realize greater fund raising success by focusing directly on programs in the communities they serve. The purpose of this exercise is to develop a more robust grass roots constituency and fundraising base for LSS.
Within the brief internship, Kinney will focus his efforts on the LSS Post Adoption Resource Center, LSS Services for New Americans and legal services for the victims of human trafficking.
“We hope that this unique experiment will result in measurable success for LSS’s advancement efforts,” states Kinney. “I know that it will be very personally challenging and rewarding experience for me!”
