"My time here has been like waking up from a bad dream. When I was 10 I used to dream about being a ballerina. While I don't have that dream anymore, the people here helped me start dreaming about my life again, about what my life can be. It feels good." -Brittany, age 16

A space for an "at risk" young lady. Their own bed, the bundle of gifts supplied by churches thoughout New England, the caring staff, the point system that transitions into "they really do care about me", the counselling, the awareness training, all speak to the wonderfully, miraculous success of this "only girls shelter" in the state of New Hampshire. How we dream we could give chances to more girls and boys in harms way!

The Antrim Girls Shelter is about miracles -- both large and small. 98 percent of the teenage girls who come to the shelter complete the program and move on to safe long term placements at home, in foster care, or at less structured residential facilities.
  • The therapeutic behavior program offers girls a safe structure where they can learn to accept limits and learn the difference between accaptable and unacceptable behavior.
  • The Antrim Girls Shelter is a fully certified school. We focus on getting the individual back on track while rekindling the excitement for learning.
  • Attendance at alcohol and substance abuse treatment meetings is mandatory.
  • Maintaining and improving relationships with family, whenever possible, is an important component of each residents treatment. Staff are trained and able to provide supervised family visits when necassary.
  • Bible study is available on a voluntary basis. Religious services and clergy visits are encouraged and provided according to individual needs.
  • Enrichment and recreational activities may be earned. Various art, music, and sport activities are offered by home staff and community volunteers.
