LSS Adoption Fund
 (LAF) to offer
financial assistance to
families who wish to adopt Adopting a child is almost always a costly undertaking. For example, an international adoption can cost as much as $20,000. For some families, who have plenty of love and stability but few financial resources, adoption becomes prohibitive. For these families, the LSSNE Foundation has established the LSS Adoption Fund, or LAF. The new fund was announced at the recent New England-wide adoption picnic that drew nearly 200 adoptive parents and children. "This is a new fund and therefore relatively 'empty' at the moment," stated Dr. Len Hoffmann, LSSNE Vice President for Advancement. "But we are mailing an appeal to adoptive parents and grandparents, who we believe will want to help other parents reach the joyful outcome that they have experienced." Hoffmann also said that this is the first fund of its kind to be administered by the relatively new LSSNE Foundation. A new brochure is available and may be obtained by calling 877-500-8263 or e-mailing Mmann@LSSNE.org.
