Volunteering

It is community volunteers who give freely of their time who are the heart of successful resettlement. Many refugees and immigrants that come to our country have left everything behind and support is needed in all aspects of their life. Only together, as a community of caring people, can we help our newest community members to recover, heal, and begin to see the options and possibilities around them.

Volunteers can provide for those needs through: welcoming newcomers, arranging for housing, providing and coordinating donations of food, clothing, furniture and household goods, pick-up and delivery of donations, providing transportation for appointments and errands, serving as an English tutor, mentoring, assisting with office work or offering friendship.

If you would be interested in volunteering please complete the email contact form below or call your local office to learn more about this opportunity.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship is an opportunity for a group, either faith-based or secular, to share their time, talents and gifts, and assist a newly arriving refugee or immigrant family. This can be either a full or partial commitment of time and resources. Sponsorship involves a willingness to open your hearts and lives to a family and empower them to become independent and self-sufficient.
