LSS nurtures its partnership with Lutheran churches in many ways:
- LSS Sundays take place in dozens of churches each year; staff members are often present to preach, teach or speak to adult forums about the work of LSS and what congregations can do to support social ministry;
- LSS produces "LSS News, Needs and Stories, " a monthly publication featuring LSS storoies, client needs and news sent to congregations via email or regular mail for use in Sunday bulletins and/or church newsletters;
- There are limitless opportunities for congregations to show their support of social ministry by exploring "Volunteer Opportunities" with LSS;
- The "Vision for the 21st Century" for Lutheran social ministry in New England anticipates the growing importance of ministries which are community and church based;
- Lutheran Social Services of New England is also in the process of expanding the ministry of chaplain/developers, ordained clergy certified as chaplains who minister in LSS nursing homes and local programs and also cultivate support for the agency.
