Above, Tracey Frederick, LSS Deaf Services Coordinator in Maine, is the primary educational interpreter for Fangen, a 12-year-old boy who has Deafness.

Creative Solutions for Living and Working

In Portland and the greater Lewiston/Auburn area in Maine, residents with disabilities or mental illness are served in comfortable homes, where they live in a family setting and receive supports  tailored to their needs from our committed professional staff.

Pioneer in Deaf Services
LSS in Southern Maine is breaking new ground in services for adults who have Deafness, as well as disabilities.  The majority of LSS staff serving in two residential programs are also Deaf.  LSS also provides a special program of educational interpreting for Deaf students enrolled in the public school system.
