Waiting Parents

Claudia and Peter... waiting in Connecticut

Dear Someone Special,

It's beyond our imagination how difficult your situation is and how hard your decision must be. We have high respect for you for considering us as the adoptive parents for your child.

We have been married for more that 10 years and face a destiny very distinct from yours; we have no children even though we long for them. The decision to adopt ripened last year, and we are ready to take on this mission. Like all first time parents, we do not know how we are going to cope with raising a child. But we have many good intentions about how we like to be and what we want to do as parents. Most of it is driven by good memories and experiences from our own youth.

We would like to motivate our child to develop various skills, playing games, doing sports and arts. We intend to teach him or her good values, such as honesty and respect for others and nature. We will teach him or her good manners, a positive attitude towards new things and change and provide him or her with a good education as we have been able to receive. One thing is certain - we will be fully dedicated to raise and take responsibility for a child from a birth mother or birth parents who entrust us with this most precious gift.

We have shared our lives for 18 years and have gone through many joyful and adventurous times. We spend most of our spare time outdoors, hiking, skiing, rowing and cycling. Our wedding gift was a tandem and since then we have traveled in many countries of the world, meeting people of many cultural backgrounds, discovering nature and man made things. Those lessons taught us to be respectful with others and grateful to be healthy. We life in a town house in a nice neighborhood and spend as much time as we can outside on the deck or working in the veggie and flower garden.

Claudia, an elementary school teacher by education, works in a nature center as an environmental educator and Peter, an engineer by education, is selling industrial laser equipment. We are glad that we both like our jobs.

Socializing with friends and families is an important part in our lives as well. In particular with our god children we like to spend as much time as we can playing games, cooking, doing arts and sports. With our families we have very good relationships and we are glad that both families get along very well with each other. We are convinced that they will be delighted to welcome a new member of the family and will support us and our child as much as they can.

We hope we can provide what you would like for your child to have in the future.

Respectfully,

Claudia and Peter
